Dark rumors come from Mordor. The Eye turns to Middle-earth. The hour has come. The Fellowship has reunited. The heroes prepare for battle. Will you play as the Fellowship of the Ring and try to defend the free races and destroy the One Ring? Or will you play as Sauron and pursue Frodo and Sam, and command your armies to capture enemy cities? The fate of Middle-earth is in your hands!

The game consists of three different chapters that play out similarly. During your turn, you will strengthen your Skills, collect treasures, expand your influence in Middle-earth, try to attract the races to your side or complete the Quest of the Ring. There are several different ways to win the game, including a draw.
