Familiar Rules in an Epic Disguise

The core gameplay follows the classic Risk formula, but the map is now Middle-earth – and the armies are Gondor’s riders, Mordor’s orcs, and everything in between. This version covers only part of the world (Rohan, Gondor, and Mordor), making the game more intense and the battles tighter. For the full Middle-earth experience, you’ll need a separate expansion or the later Trilogy Edition.

Play as Good or Evil

Choose your side in the great war: Will you protect Middle-earth or plunge it into darkness? Each side has its own strengths and leader pieces, and the additional missions and strongholds offer new paths to victory – and even more tactical possibilities.

Time Pressure with the One Ring

A unique mechanic sets this version apart from classic Risk: The One Ring moves across the board and serves as a built-in time limit. When the ring leaves the board, the game ends – no matter who’s ahead. This adds tension and makes every move count.
