Resafa (2024) Board Game

Board game in English.

The board game Resafa is set in the 3rd century in the Middle East. Resafa is now a ruin in Syria, but in its time, was a fortress in the desert that flourished as an important stop for trading caravans.

In the game, players represent merchants who travel for business and buy and sell goods in various cities in the region. Resafa has no local water source, so it depends on huge cisterns that collect spring and winter rainwater and make the surrounding area habitable. Players will build water reservoirs and canals to distribute water where it is needed most. In the cities, players will build workshops to expand their businesses, which will allow them to collect resources and camels. They will also construct parks between the businesses, which will generate resources and victory points.

The game lasts six rounds, in each of which players will take three actions by playing action cards. The player with the most victory points wins.
