In the Alchemists board game, players compete to discover the elements of the mystical world and publish their ideas in the academic world.
Each player is an alchemist who tries to publish their theories, correct them and thus earn money and fame in the academic world. There are 8 elements in this game. Each element has three properties and each property can be positive or negative, small or large. In one game, an element can have 8 different variations. So how can an alchemist discover the elements? Simply by grinding ingredients and making potions, which they give to their helpers to try or even drink themselves.
The game is played over six turns. Players choose their actions at the beginning of each turn by placing their cubes on different action spaces on the board. Players can collect ingredients, sell ingredients, sell magic potions, gain knowledge by mixing ingredients, and use smartphones to test the results. To achieve better results, alchemists can use magical artifacts, but they are not only very powerful, but also very expensive. Money can be earned by selling elixirs to adventurers, the quality and effect of which can be not only positive, but also negative. However, money means nothing to alchemists, it is just a tool to achieve respect and fame by publishing their theories. Victory points are obtained for reputation, artifacts and correct theories. Whoever collects the most points wins.
The correct ingredient results change with each game, so this game can be played endlessly.
The Alchemists board game is unique, engaging, captivating, thematic, and very beautiful. It seamlessly combines theme and mechanics, providing interesting solutions. And it is a lot of fun for those who like deduction and puzzle games. It is also suitable for those who find it quite fun to paralyze their student by giving him the wrong potion or blowing up a laboratory.
